Project Description

This large kitchen space was hampered by a peninsula which cut it off from the sizable family room, and by an outmoded layout of appliances and workspaces. In the new design, a large island with waterfall edges and seating for 4 becomes the new focal point, creating a modern gathering space for the family and guests. A change of location for both the cooking and refrigerator devised additional counter space for food and meal preparation. On either side of the stove wall, a pair of cabinets with pocket doors can be used as both appliance garages or additional pantry storage. Containing both a small refrigerator and a microwave drawer, a stylish beverage center for coffee and wine serves both as an attractive focal point, as well as a highly utilized and functional element. To highlight the white and navy color scheme, a striking quartz backsplash was applied, along with black accent hardware and lighting.
