This clean, sophisticated kitchen goes beyond basic white with a variety of elements that are contemporary, as well as warm and inviting. Inset style cabinets in subtle, pale gray present a striking alternative to conventional white shaker. Warm wood accents and a backsplash of hand made clay tiles provide a natural touch which also lends character to the room. Originally impeded by a curved island with an angled sink counter, a rectangular island with a waterfall edge both simplifies as well as makes the seating more inclusive. In the adjacent family room, the elements are repeated, along with a cement look slab on the fireplace seat.
