Project Description
A dated kitchen with a separate bar niche made for an awkward space with lots of angles and a winding footprint. Knocking down walls to the pantry and bar niche widened the space while making room for a stylish buffet and additional cabinetry. A narrow island was elongated to include seating space for 2 or 3, while a round dining table artfully offsets the space. Glass paneled transom cabinets, a wood banded hood and a backsplash of handmade clay tiles create a striking focal point for the previously dull stove wall. A color scheme of crisp white with natural wood tone imparts an airy atmosphere to be enjoyed by everyone – including the family cat whose tree is planted at the bay window. A simple array of appliances, including sub Zero fridge and wine fridge, and a 6 burner Wolf Range complete the package. To bring the space into cohesion, the fireplace and staircase were restyled to coordinate.
