Project Description
A sleek, modern statement in charcoal and white, this kitchen went from traditional and dated to airy and contemporary in both function and styling. A slender island allows space for cooking with an adjacent section for casual seating. A short wall of cabinets features a built-in coffee maker, microwave drawer and appliance garage, as well as lower and upper storage. The sink counter was expanded for additional surface and aesthetic balance. In an adjacent family room, a complementary texture applied to a fireplace draws the two spaces together, while a soft neutral paint combines with the travertine flooring to soften the contrast of dark and light.
